Peptides are not vitamins with better branding

A registered medicine has been assessed for quality, safety and efficacy, is made under inspected manufacturing conditions, carries a real dose on a real label, and has someone accountable for every batch.

A research chemical has none of that. The words 'not for human consumption' are on the vial because it was never made to be injected into you, and no regulator has looked at what is in it.

Powder in a small vial, a separate ampoule of water, a syringe, and instructions from a forum. The purity is unverified, the fill weight is unverified, and the storage history is unknown.

That means the dose is a guess even if you do the arithmetic perfectly, and any contaminant in the powder goes straight past every barrier your body has.

Mixing and injecting at a kitchen counter is where most of the harm we see comes from: skin not prepped, needles reused, vials shared, product left out of the fridge, bacteriostatic water swapped for something else.

Abscesses, cellulitis and bloodstream infections are not rare complications of unsterile injecting; they are the expected ones. On a coast where people also swim in the sea and train hard, an infected injection site gets worse fast.

In the pharmacy we give certain injections within our scope, in a dedicated room, with registered product, a checked expiry, a sterile technique, sharps disposal and a record of what you were given. If something goes wrong there is a person and a file, not a chat group.

That is the honest contrast. It is not that pharmacy injections are magic; it is that they are traceable.

Redness, heat, swelling, a lump or pain at an injection site, fever, feeling generally unwell after injecting, or any reaction after a dose — get seen the same day. Bring the vial with you, exactly as it is.
